Join us for our monthly Think Global/Drink Local event! This month our theme is "Smart Power & U.S. Global Engagement" with special guest George Ingram, Chair Emeritus of U.S. Global Leadership Coalition. George Ingram's professional career - in Congress, the Executive Branch, and the non-profit sector - has focused on international economic and development policy. In addition to his position at USGLC, he is a senior fellow in the Global Economy and Development program at the Brookings Institution, as well as co-chair of the Modernizing Foreign Assistance Network.

Mr. Ingram has held important positions throughout his career at the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Citizens Democracy Corps, USAID, and AED (FHI 360). He also serves on the boards of the Eurasia Foundation, the Executive Council on Diplomacy, and the Dockery Farm Foundation, and chairs the US Advisory Council to Publish What You Fund.

Join us for our monthly Think Global/Drink Local event! This month, the theme is "Global Public Health Update: Key Trends and Issues" with special guest Dr. Perle Combary, Director of Monitoring, Evaluation and Research at IntraHealth International. Dr.Combary has over 28 years of experience with strategic programming, program management, evaluation and research in the areas of population, reproductive health, child survival, health financing, community-based services, and health personnel performance improvement. She served 12 years within a USAID country office in West Africa as Program Manager and 13 years as IntraHealth's Senior Program/Evaluation Officer, Associate Director of Programs for West Africa and Technical and Operations Managers responsible for providing technical and management support to numerous projects in Africa. In this capacity, she fulfilled short term and long term assignments in many countries including Benin, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Morocco, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal and Togo.

More recently, as Benin Country Director, Combary provided overall technical and management guidance to the ACQUIRE's program in Benin, and she led the regional Southern Africa Human Capacity Development (SAHCD) project based in South Africa. Combary has a PhD in Sociology from Paris VIII University in France and a Masters in Information Sciences. She is fluent in English and French.
